Infocyte CEO Addresses Persistent Compromise at Tampa Bay Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and InfraGard Joint Event

Assessing Risk in a Breached World

Co-founder & CEO Chris Gerritz to discuss persistent compromises by global hacking organizations and how to combat them

Infocyte, a provider of cybersecurity hunt technology, announced that CEO and Co-founder Chris Gerritz will be presenting the topic “Assessing Risk in a Breached World” at today’s  Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) & InfraGard Joint Meeting in Tampa Bay.

In the talk, Gerritz presents the problem of persistent compromises by global hacking organizations and how to combat them.  In particular, Gerritz discusses the shortfalls of today’s network security risk assessments, which typically focus on compliance and vulnerabilities, and presents education on the latest malware “hunt” practices and compromise assessment services which can be used to answer more critical questions such as “Are you hacked right now?” The popular presentation has been delivered at a string of speaking events to regional conferences throughout the country, including most recently the Risk Management Association of Texas annual conference in Dallas, Texas.

“Cybersecurity represents one of the most complex risks that organizations have to manage. With persistent compromises going undetected for months, sometimes years, before being discovered,” stated Chris Gerritz, Co-founder and CEO, Infocyte. “It’s important that organizations adopt strategies to discover compromises and security breaches that bypass traditional detection technology (i.e. Anti-virus software).”

Security Brief: SIEM Alert Validation and the Dangers of Alert Fatigue

March 27, 2019

Despite the rich data provided by SIEMs, organizations find themselves drowning in false positives, making it difficult to focus on high-priority events. This problem of alert fatigue prevents cyber security teams from identifying and addressing real threats – impacting small teams with no SOC, large enterprise teams with a SOC, and MSSPs overseeing the security for many SOCs/customers.
