The concept of “The Prevention Paradox” describes how an increase in prevention can cause you to be less secure. If you are scratching your head right now, you are not alone. This seems counterintuitive on the surface. But let’s go a step further. By preventing every attack vector you can detect, you lose visibility on adversaries that adapt to your defenses. Prevention gives an attacker a feedback loop that defines tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) that do not work which help them learn which TTPs will work. So as a matter of hygiene, you must separate prevention from identification and response.

During this virtual panel, our experts will answer key questions around The Prevention Paradox and why it is necessary to not solely focus on prevention to secure your organization.
